The images depict the museum’s 7,000-tonne dome covered in steel latticework, which will house its gallery spaces as well as acting as a micro-climate without excess solar gain.

Pouille also posted an image of the surrounding waterway, surrounded by concrete steps that create ab amphitheater-like gathering space and viewing platform, set opposite the main museum structure.

Interior images showcase the intricate latticework from the inside looking out, designed as an arrangement of geometric openings and inspired by the interlaced palm leaves traditionally used as roofing material.

The interior images also include the museum’s large-scale temporary exhibition space that has been purpose built for travelling exhibitions.

The exact date for the museum opening has not been announced yet, officials have confirmed that the opening can be expected for later this year.
