The new Abu Dhabi outpost of Japanese concept, 99 Sushi Bar, is the sixth venue globally and first in the region to be opened by brothers Pedro and Fernando De León.

Set in The Galleria on Al Maryah Island, the restaurant also features a lounge bar and terrace. The attention to detail across the design and delivery is prevalent as the entrance to 99 Sushi Bar is encased by a gold waterfall feature. Guests enter via a large wooden door to be greeted by the signature 99 Sushi Bar fish sculpture, which is in all of the current restaurants and bespoke to each. The restaurant’s contemporary design infuses a variety of textures and colours; from gold mosaic wall coverings to red velvet chairs and intricate Spanish floor tiles as a nod to the brand’s heritage.

The menu features classic Japanese recipes as well as innovative creations. Starters include corn fed chicken gyozas with saffron glaze, sea salads, tempuras and tartars. Sushi connoisseurs can expect a twist on the traditional maki and sashimi.

Gulf Related managing director Daniel Parry said in a statement: “We are delighted to welcome 99 Sushi Bar to The Galleria. The Galleria has established itself as the luxury shopping and dining destination of Abu Dhabi. 99 Sushi Bar enhances the reputation of The Dining Collection which offers the perfect curation of award-winning international and local restaurants.”

99 Sushi Bar is located on the first floor at The Galleria on Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi. Lunch is served between 12.30 pm - 3.30 pm and dinner from 7 pm until midnight.
