Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts Jordan cluster marketing and communications manager Dima Jaradat's sustainability initiatives and spinning expertise spelled success, landing her the PR/Marketing Person of the Year title at the Hotelier Middle East 2017 Awards.

Category sponsor Diversey sector director Alp Aksoy presented Jaradat with her award onstage at 'Hotelier Ever After', the fairytale-themed celebration hosted by Hotelier Middle East on October 25 at The Ritz-Carlton Dubai. Palazzo Versace Dubai marketing and communications manager Merlyn D'Silva was the Highly Commended nominee for this category.

A multi-tasking specialist, Jaradat spearheaded a series of effective sustainability and humanitarian campaigns for five Mövenpick properties in Jordan while relentlessly promoting the hotels in her portfolio. She handled the hotel's effective transition from offline to online marketing, launching multiple online campaigns for all five Mövenpick properties in Jordan, and expanded these campaigns over multiple platforms. Taking thought leadership for all marketing activities, she localised the group's global campaigns and translated creativity into return on investment. What ultimately tipped the panel of judges in Jaradat's favour, however, was her fierce championship of Jordan as a tourism destination, effectively elevating the brand of Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts through her well-informed and tireless promotion of Jordanian culture, heritage and hospitality.

"It's all about loving your work, having passion, loyalty and love for what you do," Jaradat shared with Hotelier Middle East, after accepting her award.

When asked how, as a mother of three, she manages work-life balance, Jaradat said: "I learned how to manage. I'm really lucky because my family is very supportive of what I do and that's the main reason why I am here tonight."
She further revealed that her children have actually decided to follow in her footsteps and are currently studying to become future hoteliers.

Jaradat was also quick to credit Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts vice president corporate communications Laura Perez for her success.

"Laura Perez is my greatest inspiration, my tutor, my mentor, my model," Jaradat said.
