‘Real Rain’ by Kohler
New multi-sensory showering experience created by American kitchen and baths provider, after much research, promises to transport the bather to ‘the centre of a summer rainstorm’
After studying the elements of a natural rain shower, global provider of kitchen and bath products Kohler has created ‘Real Rain’, a multi-sensory showering experience that “transports the bather to the centre of a summer rainstorm”.
The spray face design has a nozzle geometry that simulates rain by adjusting the size of the water drops. The rates at which the drops fall is varying and random. The shower is designed with a water reservoir that relies on gravity rather than the pressurised spray to shape the water, using 775 nozzles to start the storm off slowly and then build. The on-demand ‘Deluge’ feature releases the 1.9 litres reservoir water in eight seconds, soaking the bather in a flood of water. ‘Real Rain’ also has a six-inch dry area that keeps the rain away from the face. With a minimalist and modern panel, the square silicone spray face is ceiling-mounted. It flows at 7.6 litres per minute, and complies with CALGreen requirements.
