Entertainment provider OSN is looking to expand its portfolio of entertainment content to meet the needs of a more diverse demographic in the Middle East and North African hospitality industry, commercial sales director Raeda Al Ahmar disclosed, ahead of OSN's sponsorship of the Hotelier Express Summit 2017.

"OSN, as a market leading entertainment provider, appreciates that people are consuming content on the move, and we are working with hotels to ensure that we are delivering our fantastic content in the right way," Al Ahmar revealed to Hotelier Express, adding: "Furthermore, we are continually looking to expand our catalogue of entertainment content. By increasing our offering by genre, region and language, OSN is looking to reflect the needs of a more diverse demographic in the Middle East and North Africa tourism industry."

Al Ahmar said that she is particularly enthused about the potential of mid-market and budget hotels, expressing her view that entertainment is an area where these hotels can add value to the guest experience without necessarily adding a substantial amount to operational expenses.

"Viewed through an OSN lens, we see it as is the opportunity of educating the budget and midmarket hotels that OSN is an affordable option to meet entertainment KPIs," she said. "With custom channel selections, OSN can provide entertainment solutions for every budget. The catalogue of channels and programmes in the OSN portfolio also allows all demographics to be catered for, whether it be movies, entertainment, sport or kids' content. For our 'Public Viewing' offering, OSN has an unparalleled line up of sport, entertainment and 'Pehla + Pinoy' content. From WWE, ICC Cricket tournaments to the Indian Premier League or Arabic and South Asian entertainment, news and music, OSN can provide the channels and content that customers want to be watching."

The tremendous potential offered by the mid-scale hotel sector is one reason why OSN is supporting the Hotelier Express Summit 2017 set to take place November 22 at Grosvenor House, Dubai, Al Ahmar said.

"OSN is partnering with the Hotelier Express Middle East Summit for the first time this year, and we are very proud to support an event that facilitates discussions on the unique challenges and opportunities within the industry.OSN is a big supporter of the Hotelier Express Middle East Summit‘s aims to provide a platform to allow hoteliers to step back, reflect and work to together to analyse how the UAE hospitality landscape is evolving, with its associated experiences and best practices," she said.

Al Ahmar added: "The representation of midlevel, budget and serviced apartments coming together sits perfectly with OSN's core values of catering for all within the hospitality sector by offering best in class operational service and customer experience to meet business KPIs."
