Afyä, the beachside restaurant at Traders Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi, has launched a new menu featuring more than 40 new dishes.

Executive sous chef Shammi De Costa has created a wide range of new dishes catering to the diverse palates of guests.

The variety of cuisines is evident throughout the menu, starting from the choice of appetisers, such as traditional Arabic lentil soup and Cobb salad featuring blue cheese, cheddar, smoked bacon and marinated grilled chicken.

To encourage guests to opt for sharing platters, De Costa has introduced a number of starters suitable for two people, such as the 'Rainbow Nachos', which includes chili con carne and cheddar cheese sauce with guacamole, tomato salsa and sour cream. For groups, the restaurant offers the 'Traders Fried Combo', which features buffalo wings, mozzarella sticks, fried calamari and spicy potato wedges.

De Costa said: “Afyä is home to people of all nationalities and ages. We decided to revamp the menu in order to meet the needs of these diverse groups. Making it a truly international spread is the wide selection of Western, grilled and Asian specialities on the menu. Whether a guest is in the mood for beef ribs, rack of lamb, biryani, curry or a seafood platter, we’ve got it all at Afyä.”

A section on the menu is dedicated to sandwiches and burgers from around the world. De Costa has also added a number of wraps inspired by local cuisine, including chicken shawarma and lamb kofta, as well as a few panini options with Cajun chicken and marinated roasted vegetables. Favourites like the Traders classic burger and the Traders club sandwich remain on the menu and as is customary at Afyä, these will be served with parmesan crinkle cut fries and a salad on the side.

For Italian cuisine, the chefs at Afyä assist guests to customise their own dishes. The new menu offers the flexibility to choose the kind of pasta and sauce, and features eight types of stone-baked pizzas including the Traders signature pizza topped with beef bolognaise, buffalo mozzarella, rocket leaves, cherry tomatoes and truffle oil.

The menu includes signature desserts by the restaurant’s pastry chefs, with the passion fruit crème brûlée and the chocolate dome with pistachio ice-cream and berries proving to be popular choices.

Located on the ground floor of the four-star hotel, Afyä can be accessed directly from the lobby and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
