Ramada Ajman hosted the inauguration of its fifth Blind Cricket World Cup 2018. The tournament is part of its initiative to empower people with disabilities.

Ramada Ajman, Ramada Beach Hotel Ajman, and Wyndham Garden Ajman Corniche cluster general manager Iftikhar Hamdani said the tournament is part of the commitment to reach out and help various sectors of the community.

“Engaging in sports is just one of the many ways to empower visually impaired individuals, and people with disability. We want to make them feel as an important part of the society and encourage them to pursue different hobbies and interests,” Hamdani added.

The tournament, organised by Pakistan Blind Cricket Council, is played jointly in UAE and Pakistan from January 8 to 21.  The participating teams include Australia, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The championship game will be held at Gaddafi Stadium in Pakistan.
