UAE-headquartered hospitality company Time Hotels will continue its support of local and regional communities in 2018 through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, including its support for a hospital caring for children with cancer, as well as a marine conservation programme and other campaigns.

Extending its outreach programme beyond the UAE, Time Hotels has partnered with a Children’s Cancer Hospital in Egypt as part of a year-long charity initiative to raise funds for the treatment of sick children, covering the cost of examinations, tests, scans and of course medicine.

"Donations can be made online, through our website, or at any of our hotels. Each Time Hotels property, as well as O’Leary’s sports restaurant, will have two collection podiums. Briefs explaining our main initiatives in 2018, will also be available in all hotel rooms along with donation envelopes,” said Time Hotels CEO Mohamed Awadalla.

In addition, Time Hotels’ marine conservation programme, in collaboration with the Emirates Wildlife Society - a local entity of the World Wildlife Fund (EWS-WWF) - will help facilitate two key projects: The Gulf Green Turtle Project and The Marine Protected Areas. The Gulf Green Turtle project is investigating the habitat use and hotspot areas by green turtles to decipher their migration paths within the Gulf region and to raise awareness of the important role turtles play in the wider marine environment. The Marine Protected Areas project helps ensure the protection of marine ecosystems, processes, habitats and species which can contribute to the restoration and replenishment of resources for social, economic and cultural enrichment.

Other plans for the year ahead include a Ramadan iftar gathering where iftar boxes will be distributed to taxi drivers, a walk to raise awareness for breast cancer and a community clean-up campaign as well as food & safety hygiene awareness day and a blood donation day.

There will be several team building events where gifts will be exchanged among all team members in February and again in December. A talent competition, the annual staff party and the popular waiter race will also take place over the course of the coming 12 months.

"Over the years, TIME Hotels has been involved in a range of activities designed to give back to and support the communities we operate in. Everything we do is backed by our commitment to have a positive impact…we don’t want to just put a smile on somebody’s face today, we want a more substantial and longer-lasting influence, than that," added Awadalla.
