The coveted Mid-Market Hotel Team of the Year title at the Hotelier Express Awards has gone to Park Inn by Radisson Hotel Abu Dhabi Yas Island.
The hotel has recently successfully undergone a complete refurbishment while seeing RGI growth making it surge ahead of its competitive set in the area. The team has also been responsible for the hotel winning The Green Key Certification, all the while reducing water and energy consumption throughout the property. It has also won internal awards while achieving revenues and surpassing targets, and also engaging with its local community.
It fought off tough competition from the highly commended nominee, Centro Sharjah by Rotana, and the other shortlisted teams.
The team came together after the event to say that they were all very proud to receive the award. The hotel's director of engineering added: "This is because of all the effort of our team, all of us have worked hard during 2017 and we are planning to continue in 2018."
Sustainability was highlighted as an important facet of the hotel's operations; the hotel saved 18% of water consumption last year, and the aim is to reach 25%.
The award was handed over by Guest Supply regional director Chloe Shine.
The Hotelier Express Awards 2018 took place at the Grosvenor House Dubai on February 28, 2018, and was supported by a range of industry partners including: A. Ronai, Duni, Diversey, Guest Supply, MMI, OSN For Business, and Tint.
