Flydubai will soon operate flights from Emirates' Terminal 3, reports Arabian Business. The airline's CEO told sister-publication that this decision has been in the works as a result of a codeshare partnership with Emirates.

“The cooperation is growing very strongly, and in the future we’ll be moving flights to different parts of the airport, [and] absolutely to Terminal 3,” Ghaith al Ghaith said.

Flydubai has announced routes to 10 new destinations including Helsinki in Finland and Krakow in Poland over the last few weeks.

“These are routes that are not serviced by Emirates because while they are still too small for a widebody, they are still big enough for us to go to in collaboration with Emirates,” said Ghaith, “and we’re operating at strong load factors on them.”

Figures revealed by Flydubai and Emirates show more than 400,000 passengers flying on codeshare flights between the airlines between November 2017 and March 2018. So far, more than 250,000 itineraries have been booked for the year ahead.

Flydubai’s move to Dubai’s second airport, Dubai World Central (DWC) at Al Maktoum International, has long been on the cards, as has Emirates.

However, dates for both of the city’s carriers moving operations to the airport entirely have been pushed back until it is able to handle at the same capacity as Dubai International Airport.
