Organic wine is on the up, following the successful conclusion of one of the world largest organic wine tasting exhibitions.

Millésime Bio 2009, described by one wine expert as the “leading professional organic and biodynamic wine show on this planet”, took place in January with the aim of promoting organic wine to international markets.

The annual show, which alternates between Montpellier and Perpignan locations, this year took place at the Montpellier Exhibition Centre and hosted more than 300 producers from across Europe.

Commenting on the wine-tasting extravaganza, award-winning Alsatian wine producer Pierre Frick said: “Generally speaking, wine merchants and retailers, whoever they are, appreciate the Millésime Bio wine awards as they make sales easier.

“They definitely give you an advantage and act as points of reference for members of the public.”
