Occupancy rates for most hospitality providers in Kuwait have exceeded 90% during the new year festivities, according to Kuwait’s Al-Rai Daily. Saudis and Emiratis formed a high percentage of bookings.

Kuwait’s Al Rai Daily has reported that hotel occupancy rates during the new year period in the country have witnessed new highs. The report said that Gulf citizens were the highest number of visitors, with Kuwaitis and expatriates also representing a large proportion of the bookings.

One of the reasons the newspaper gave for the increased bookings was that the recent holiday vacations also coincided with mid-term breaks for school.

The newspaper also reported that many hotels included offers over the new year in order to increase footfall. Speaking to the Al-Rai Daily, the operations manager of the Simon Style Kuwait Hotel, a Radisson group of hotels, said: “The occupancy rate in the hotel has reached 100%.”
