Unilever created a stir at this month’s Gulfood exhibition with its promise to offer a “total kitchen solution”.

“I see our role as providing solutions - working together with the hospitality industry to achieve the goals that they want to achieve,” said Unilever Middle East managing director Yasser Ezz El Arab.

“We have a whole team of chefs who help us devise ways to save costs and increase efficiency – findings that we can then pass on to our customers.

“Ultimately, we want to understand what our chefs or operators need, so we can understand and service them accordingly,” he explained.

“It’s not just about selling products; it’s about offering the full package and helping them to generate more revenue.”

According to El Arab, the firm’s primary aim for Gulfood was to “reinforce the message about what we do”.

“We wanted to demonstrate to people how we could help them be more effective and perform better in their business,” he concluded.
