Global spa design and management company ESPA has recently taken over the operations of the spa at the One&Only Royal Mirage hotel in Dubai.

ESPA chief executive Susan Harmsworth said: “We’ve taken over the existing spa, what was the Givenchy spa, which has had a minor refurbishment so now it’s all ESPA treatments and ESPA team”.

She said that the hotel had kept its very popular Oriental Hammam.

ESPA opened its Dubai office six months ago and Harmsworth said that a warehouse in the emirate would “be open very shortly”.

The company was also working hard to develop an ESPA spa at one of the hotels on Yas Island by the Formula One race track.

Of ESPA’s projects elsewhere, Harmsworth added: “Globally we’ve had about 20 projects go on hold out of a total of 60, but then we’ve picked up another 10 this year”.
