Hilton Hotels has launched more than 700 Hilton Fitness By Precor hotel gyms since 2006, making it one of the largest health and fitness brands worldwide.

In addition, recent guest satisfaction surveys by Hilton have revealed that hotels offering Hilton Fitness By Precor facilities recorded an increase in guest satisfaction of up to 45%.

Hilton Hotels global vice president of fitness and spa Keith Burnet said: “Hilton Fitness By Precor facilities couple Precor’s state-of-the-art fitness equipment with Hilton’s dedication to creating contemporary, fresh and positive work out environments. The result has been a new standard in hospitality fitness, and the guest feedback has been fantastic.

“A strong fitness experience is without doubt a key component of a complete hotel experience and I believe that Hilton is actively leading the way in this area,” added Burnet.

Originally launched in the US at the end of 2006, the branded hotel health clubs have now increased their presence in the Middle East.

Already open, or set to open in 2009, are Hilton Fitness by Precor at Hilton Ras Al Khaimah, Hilton Dubai Creek, Hilton Dubai Jumeirah and Hilton Fujairah in the UAE, plus Hilton Hurghada in Egypt.

In total, 150 Hilton Fitness By Precor facilities are due to open globally in 2009, at properties including those in Guam in the Pacific Ocean, Abuja in Nigeria and Papagayo in Costa Rica.

The rollout will involve 12,000 pieces of Precor gym equipment, from cardio machines to strength stations, being installed at Hilton hotels. The health clubs themselves have also been refurbished with new signage to meet strict brand guidelines.

Precor hospitality manager Tracy McCurtin said: “Hilton Fitness By Precor has been a great success because we are providing fitness-minded travellers with what they are looking for - a superior health and fitness experience.

“The concept has significantly raised the bar when it comes to hospitality fitness - hotel guests are now able to work out in the way they want to and follow their normal exercise regimes even when they are away from home,” added McCurtin.
