Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) will occupy the largest stand at Arabian Travel Market (ATM) from May 5 to 8 to showcase the capital’s expanding portfolio.

The Abu Dhabi pavilion is expected to feature 40 companies, with a focus on the whole emirate, including Abu Dhabi's Al Gharbia (western region) and developments in the east, including Al Ain.

In the lineup, Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC) will promote its Qasr Al Sarab (Mirage Palace) desert resort, expected to open before year end in the Rub al Khali (Empty Quarter) of the Liwa Desert.

Le Bristol Abu Dhabi is the Parisian brand’s first non-European property — located on the western side of the capital. Abu Dhabi’s National Corporation for Tourism & Hotels (NCTH) is expected start construction on the 250-room hotel next year for a 2012 opening. NCTH is also doubling capacity at Al Raha Beach Hotel, adding three additional restaurants and upgrading its spa.

Also exhibiting, Aldar’s seven hotels on Yas Island are on track to open in time for November’s Formula One Grand Prix, as well as Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre’s (ADNEC) 408-room aloft Abu Dhabi — the brand’s largest hotel and first in the Middle East .

And the planned four-star Traders Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, is due to open this year, completing the Qary Al Beri 'destination-in-a-destination' project. The 301-room hotel will be operated by luxury hotel company Shangri-La Asia and will mainly cater to business travellers.
