Jazeera Airways has announced new routes and fare products and the opening of numerous sales outlets on the opening day of Arabian Travel Market in Dubai.

From June, the low-cost airline will fly from Kuwait to four new routes; Delhi, Bombay, Salaleh and Sana.

These routes will be serviced by two new Airbus A320s which will be delivered next month.

The additional routes take the airline’s network to ten destinations in total.

In addition, the airline announced the opening of a network of shops, including one in Dubai.

Additional outlets in Kuwait, Bahrain and Doha will open in May.

Not only that, Jazeera has introduced four new fare products for passengers, to cater for growing interest from corporate travellers.

Speaking to Aviation Business at the ATM trade show, Jazeera Airways CEO Andrew Cowen said: "Over the next week or so we will be signing contracts worth almost US$5 million with corporate companies that are seeking lower fares for their travelling workers.

"The fares offer more flexibility and cover both premium and economy cabins. This means that fully flexible fares will be offered for the Jazeera+ service, allowing corporates to have the benefit of lounge access and a wide range of inflight entertainment at around 75% less than the cost of flying with a legacy carrier."

Cowen identified that cuts in travel budgets meant that low-cost travel was becoming popular with multi-national corporations, but pointed out that the market in Kuwait was holding up well against the economic crisis.

"Kuwait is a resilient market and leisure is still as popular as business travel is for us. These new announcements show that we are preparing for the economic upswing," Cowen concluded.
