Almost a third of those working in the Middle East’s hospitality industry expect to receive a pay rise of 10% or more over the next year.

That’s according to our very own Hotelier Middle East Salary Survey 2009, which involved almost 500 hoteliers from across a wide range of countries, departments and roles.

In spite of current economic conditions, 89.3% of you have received payrises during the past two years, with 34.4% seeing an increase between six months and a year ago and almost a quarter (22.5%) getting a raise in the past six months

Only 4.2% of respondents had not received an increase in their salary since before three years ago, however, a quarter of hotel employees do not expect a pay rise in the next year and 16.3% said their company had announced a pay freeze.

On the plus side, a third of respondents said they expected a pay rise of more than 10% within the next year.
