Executive chefs are the top earners in the F&B industry, according to the results of Hotelier Middle East’s inaugural Salary Survey which ran last month and was completed by almost 500 participants across the region.

The average executive chef in the Middle East looks forward to a salary of US $8,696 per month while standard chefs take home around $3,125 per month as standard.

At the other end of the spectrum, bar staff are the lowest paid with an average salary of $1,250 per month, with food service staff earning $2,310.

The good news for lowly-paid bar staff is that, should they make the jump to becoming a bar manager, they can expect a huge rise and average monthly remuneration of $4,350, while F&B managers were the second highest earners in the F&B industry on an average of $5,050 per month.
