Edgar Solenthaler brings a vast amount of regional experience to his role at Swiss-Belhotel International, making him one to watch as the company embarks on the rollout of seven properties in the Middle East over the next two years.
With 35 years working at five-star international hotels and resorts across Europe, Asia and the Middle East, Solenthaler has experience in Egypt, Jordan, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia specifically.
Previous roles include managing director for Iberotel & Sol Y Mar Hotels & Resorts, Egypt, and he worked with Mövenpick Hotels and Resorts in the Middle East for seven years.

Having joined Swiss-Belhotel International in 2006, Solenthaler is now in charge of the development and operations of a variety of diverse projects, including Winter Valley Dead Sea by Swiss-Belhotel opening in 2010, Swiss-Belhotel Sana’a in Yemen opening in 2010, Swiss-Belhotel Masirah Island in Oman and Gold Swiss-Belhotel in Dubai, both opening this year.
