Accor Hospitality Middle East confirmed the planned expansion of its regional network is well on track at an Iftar event hosted by Suitehotel Mall of the Emirates.

The group’s managing director, Christophe Landais, expanded: “Accor is a recognised leader in the hospitality industry and we intend to further strengthen our position in the region by developing our core brands.

“Our target is to operate 44 hotels across nine Middle Eastern countries by 2011.

“Accor Hospitality’s Iftar event provided us with an opportunity to showcase the recently opened Suitehotel Mall of the Emirates which is modelled on our new concept in hotel living the ‘lifestyle city concept’,” he added.

Accor’s plans for the UAE include the official opening of the Sofitel Jumeirah Beach at the end of September; the launch of the ibis Rigga within the first quarter of next year; and the introduction of its new brand Pullman Hotels and Resorts — strategically linked to Dubai’s Mall of Emirates — by mid-2010.
