Fujairah’s Le Méridien Al Aqah Beach Resort has launched Sapore, an Italian restaurant developed at a cost of AED 9 million (US $2.5 million).

“The millions invested in Sapore reflect our commitment to the continuous development of our products and services following on from our extensive beach-front development in 2008,” said Le Méridien Al Aqah Beach Resort general manager Patrick Antaki.

Sapore, which employs an Italian term describing taste and flavour for its name, features a specialist Italian chef in Dario Usai.

Usai has created a lunch and dinner menu, featuring simple starters, snacks and sophisticated dishes, including date and gorgonzola ravioli.

Le Méridien Al Aqah Beach Resort director of food and beverage Gian Raffaele Sabbatucci noted: “Italian food is very popular with our guests and is already part of our international cuisine line-up at Views restaurant, so we developed an Italian restaurant to cater to this demand.

“We have included signature seafood dishes, such as Yellowfin Tuna Carpaccio, because we want to be known as the best Italian seafood restaurant, with fresh fish and shellfish being key features.”

The licensed restaurant also has an experienced sommelier, a wide variety of specially selected extra virgin olives oils and the option of al fresco dining during the cooler months.
