Abu Dhabi has fallen seven places in the Hogg Robinson Group’s (HRG) ranking of the world’s 10 most expensive cities.

In 2009, the UAE capital was second only to Moscow and the only top 10 city to record any growth (5%) in average room rate.

This year has seen a dramatic reversal for Abu Dhabi, now in eighth place and experiencing the highest average rate reduction of the 10 cities with a 25% decrease.

Moscow maintained its top spot in the 2010 rankings, but Rome, Copenhagen and Dubai have dropped out, falling to 14th, 16th and 19th positions respectively.
