The final nominees for the Hotelier Middle East Awards Outlet Manager of the Year have been chosen, with five industry leaders selected from hundreds of candidates.

The shortlist was compiled by a panel of experts, who judged each outlet manager on their nomination form and a set of pre-determined criteria including experience, innovation, and an ability to motivate staff while increasing revenue.

Samer Saleh, outlet manager, Hilton Abu Dhabi
Samers enthusiasm and love for the job, makes him go over and above call of duty at Cinnabar. He takes pride and personal ownership of the promotion of Cinnabar. Samer’s enthusiasm and ability to motivate his employees and his ability to lead by example has resulted in a significant increase in productivity and profitability.

Sharon Zhang Xiurong, restaurant operations manager, Al Bustan Palace InterContinental
Sharon gets personally involved in employee training to ensure that her team has the skills & the authenticity needed to be as successful as possible. And she works every day to keep her colleagues motivated and happy. Sharon has solid understanding of every aspect of operation of the restaurant and to be able to step into anybody's shoes as the need arises.

Nasser Al Reefy, restaurants manager, Rosewood Corniche
Nasser is a true hotelier who cares passionately about his guests and his team. He is hands on, manages from the floor and leads by example. Nasser is also commited to his personal development, he is currently working his way through the Rosewood development program in conjunction with Harvard Business School.

Rama Raghu Rao, Al Maha bar manager, Al Bustan Palace InterContinental
Rao’s presence and service he provides in the Al Maha Bar creates experience which lingers in the guest memory for ever. Rao gets personally involved in employee training to ensure that teams have the skills needed to be as successful as possible. His team is highly motivated, and creative, in both cocktail making and customer satisfaction

Mohamed Jawahar, restaurant manager, Crowne Plaza Dubai
Mohamed has a natural ability to connect with guests, whether they are regularly visiting Al Tannour or only visiting for the first time. He ensures that each and every single guest enjoys the “Al Tannour” experience to the maximum with everything he does.

The winner will be announced at the Hotelier Middle East Awards which will be held on October 14 at Madinat Jumeirah Resort.
