ADA Cosmetics International has introduced FloraluxeBIO, a new, certified natural cosmetics line, to its Green Collection.

The development has come in response to consumer demand for purely natural products that “has been on the rise for years”, said ADA chief developer Claudia Raatz.

The product has been awarded the natural cosmetics seal from EcoCert on account of the fact that more than 98% of its ingredients are from natural origins.

At least half of the ingredients are plant-based raw materials and a minimum of 5% of the plant ingredients are from organic farming.

All the products are free of dyes, parabens, silicones, mineral oils, genetically-modified ingredients, animal-based extracts and any artificial fragrances.

Raatz said that while the demand for natural products has affected the hotel cosmetics business, there was still “confusion among hotel buyers regarding the terminology”.

“Just because a product claims to be ‘natural’, this does not mean that all of the ingredients are 100% natural,” she said. “Some brands embellish their products with plant ingredients, but add any number of artificial additives. Furthermore, natural cosmetics are no guarantee for an environmentally friendly production process.

“For this reason, ADA opted for the certification of FloraluxeBIO through the reputable EcoCert seal. The renowned organisation certifies, verifiably, the use of natural ingredients of a controlled premium grade and in strictly specified concentrations, the omission of chemical, artificial additives as well as a respectful treatment of the environment in every production phase,” explained Raatz.

The FloraluxeBIO range comprises shower gel, shampoo, body lotion, conditioner and soap, available in recyclable packaging.
