The Ritz-Carlton, Doha has unveiled the first phase of the QR20 million (US$5.5 million) soft refurbishment project that encompasses the hotel’s 374 guest rooms and suites, Lobby Lounge, Grand Lobby and Executive Club Lounge.
“We are very excited about the new look and textures of the hotel,” said GM Pep Lozano.
“The refurbishments, from the lobby to the deluxe rooms to the Amiri Suite, have greatly enhanced our standard of luxury and set The Ritz-Carlton apart from the competition. The redesign was reflective of the distinctive representation of Arabic history and culture, and we are positive that it will have a positive impact on our guests’ experience.”
CEO Qatar National Hotels Jan-Poul De Boer said that although Qatar National Hotels had continually invested in The Ritz-Carlton, Doha for many years, it was “an opportune time to enhance completely the rooms’ product with a sizeable investment”.

“Our goal was not only to add value for the hotel guests but also to the city of Doha and Qatar’s tourism and hospitality sector,” he said.
“By dramatically improving the quality on a regular basis, we ensure that The Ritz-Carlton maintains its positioning as one of the best hotels in the nation.”
In keeping with the hotel’s original colour and design themes, interior designer Pascale Julian of Qatar National Hotels updated the colour palettes and textiles of silk, velvet, and suede from international luxury brands such as Lelievre (France,) Zimmer and Rhode (Germany,) Rubelli (Italy) and Edelman (United States of America.)
Guests will get a first glimpse of the new look when they enter the Grand Lobby, with its two-meter high Viennese Baakowitz Swarovski crystal chandelier, and the contemporary Italian textiles fitted on all the custom-made furniture.
Newly refurbished rooms offer new signature bed linens as well as wide-screen LCD TVs, wireless internet access and iPod docking stations.
