The Bar of the Year award went to Barasti bar in Le Méridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort and Marina, Dubai.
Barasti beat off tough competition from Breezes Beach Bar at the Hilton Fujairah Resort; Cooper’s Restaurant, Park Rotana Abu Dhabi; Okku Dubai; and Sublime Bar at Ibis World Trade Centre Plaza to clinch the award.
Barasti emerged as the winner by impressing the panel with the sheer volume of people it caters for — which judges described as "incredible" — as well as its ability to reinvent itself and remain one of the most popular destinations in Dubai despite increasing competition.

Stewart Selbie, who recently joined as complex general manager, Le Meridien Mina Seyahi said the team were "delighted" with the award.
"I’m fairly new to Dubai, and I’m really impressed by Barasti. It’s an institution in Dubai, and has an incredible following."
Okku Dubai and Breezes Beach Bar and Terrace at theHilton Fujairah Resort, were highly commended in this category.
