Management and staff of Millennium & Copthorne will take part in organised walks across the MENA region this month to mark the World Diabetes Awareness Month.

Representing six Millennium & Copthorne hotels in the UAE, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar, 200 employees are due to walk a combined total of 632km in to raise awareness for the condition which afflicts an estimated 26.6 million adults in the Middle East alone – accounting for almost 10% of the world’s sufferers.

“At Millennium & Copthorne we have a strong presence in the Middle East market, owning and managing twelve hotels across six countries and employing over 2,500 people. This means that we are invested in our local communities and are committed to making a positive impact. The figures we see on the prevalence of diabetes in our region are worrying: this is why we are doing all we can to raise awareness of this condition, so as to allow people to better understand how to recognise and prevent it. By walking for the cause, we believe that we are making a positive step towards change,” Nadia Mounib, Marketing and Communications Manager, Millennium & Copthorne Hotels and Resorts said.
