A new real-time restaurant booking website has launched in the Middle East, initially focussing on the UAE.

Currently, the website lists around 500 restaurants across Dubai and Abu Dhabi, supplying information about them and offering the chance to book a table.

Users can search using keywords, such as the type of cuisine, make a selection and booking free of charge. “Imagine having a butler in your pocket,” says Mohamed Al-Marzougy, one of the founders. “An Internet connection from a laptop or android phone, a few words to list what you are looking for and you are presented with a host of some of the best outlets in the UAE.”

All that is needed from the restaurant to be part of Tawilati is an internet connection, and optional extras are available, such as an iPad application for customer surveys, which allows the restaurant to track its diners, saving details such as whether a customer is vegetarian or has food allergies, as well as tracking the quality of its staff.

Dr. Ibrahim Baggili, the second founder of the company, who has a PhD in cyber forensics, said: is “Each of us is highly qualified within our field and are driven by pure passion for excellence, quality, and creativity in every aspect of our work and it is that drive that has enabled us to grow our online presence in such a short span of time through Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, and weekly dining deals blog post.”
