There is no better place or time for hoteliers to go on a shopping spree than at the new Voglia showroom opposite Sunset Mall, Jumeirah Beach Road, in Dubai on Thursday June 15 or Friday June16 when all profits from product sales will be donated to the Christina Noble Children’s Foundation (CNCF).

Hotelier Middle East will be generating a live blog from the the high-end furniture store during the two days with a running tab on what has been bought - from bedding and tableware to artwork and other furnishings - and what funds have subsequently been raised.

The generous hotelier who makes the biggest shopping splurge will have his or her name, hotel name and photo featured on HotelierMiddleEast.com, with details of how much has been raised from the purchase.

The charitable initiative by the hospitality supplier is in support of a wider effort to raise US $50,000 (around AED 180,000) for CNCF to run the kindergarten 'Sunshine School' for two hundred disadvantaged children in Vietnam

The initiative is being spearheaded by Hotelier Middle East's publishing director Diarmuid O'Malley and his running partner Neil Munro - together known as team 'Arctic Xtreme' - who have committed to running 42km through snow and ice in the gruelling Polar Circle Marathon in October 2012.

The Polar Circle Marathon, often referred to as 'the coolest marathon on earth', is more challenging than its deceptively simple description. It takes place in Kangerlussuaq, Greenland where temperatures routinely drop to between -10 and -20ºC in October.

“I want to put my efforts to a very worthy cause in support of CNCF in Vietnam. I was first introduced to CNCF by Christina Noble’s book ‘Bridge Across My Sorrows’ many years ago. It was recommended to me by both, my mother and my mother-in-law, so I suppose I had to read it then! Christina’s challenging life and the amount of work she and the foundation have done and continue to do is just staggering,” said O'Malley.

Munro, who has always had a deep fascination for the Arctic, added: "The reason we have continued to sponsor CNCF is because we have seen tangible results delivered by the foundation and the impact it has on children’s lives”.

Both O'Malley and Munro commended Voglia's generous contribution to the cause and urged hoteliers to come down and shop to play their part in the building of Sunshine School.
