A new survey has unveiled the spa trends of UAE residents – with 44% preferring to enjoy beauty and spa treatments while on holiday, rather than in their own city.
The report, which was produced by YouGov on behalf of online deals site Living Social, revealed that while nearly half of residents preferred treatments abroad, a staggering 91% spend money on health and beauty every month.
It showed that 21% of respondents spend between AED 367 (US $100) and AED 734 (US $200) per month on health and beauty, including on hair, nails, massages and gym memberships, with a quarter of residents enjoying monthly manicures and pedicures.
The top three treatments for the residents were a haircut (69%), facial (50%) and head massage (41%), while, despite, the region’s sunshine, 17% receive a spray tan once a month.
