EXCLUSIVE: UAE-based Nael & Bin Harmal Group has announced it is planning to open a second hotel in Al Barsha, following the recent opening of the boutique Cosmopolitan Hotel in June.
Group managing director, Tony Saliba, told Hotelier Middle East that it is currently looking at plots of land close to its first hotel for the site of a hotel apartments development.
“We are currently looking at another piece of land. Our main company is a constructing business, so we built [Cosmopolitan] ourselves, and we had a couple of meetings recently and it was decided that we want to try another one, so we are looking at good pieces of land in nice places and we are really keen on starting another project as soon as possible," Saliba said.
“Al Barsha seems to be a good area, and it will be a synergy between the management team, so close by. We are looking at hotel apartments not far from [Cosmopolitan], so we can have the same team managing both.”
He added that all the partners in the company were on board with the plans, but that “it is not a race”.
“We need to find the right plot, the right place, the right size. Building it is the easiest thing to do – we have the manpower, the knowhow, the materials, but we’re not going to jump just for the sake of jumping,” he said.
