The Rezidor Hotel Group is set to launch the fifth edition of its annual Box Appeal charity campaign on September 1.
The Box Appeal, which donates practical items to labourers in the Middle East, is run by Radisson Blu and Park Inn Hotels in the Middle East and held in conjunction with the Red Crescent.
In total, nine Radisson Blu and Park Inn properties in the Middle East are taking part in the 2012 edition of the campaign, along with a Radisson Blu hotel in Egypt and in Bahrain.

The hotels provide small boxes and ask participants to fill them with everyday items such as toothpaste, t-shirt, a cap and shaving cream and then return them to the hotel for distribution among the community.
Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group area vice president Mark Willis said: ““The Box Appeal has steadily gathered momentum over the last four years, we received so much support from the general public, local companies and of course our sponsors in 2011 we had the most successful appeal to date. We hope to repeat this success in 2012 and our confident that once again people’s generosity will help us collect more boxes than ever before”.
Since the launch of The Box Appeal in 2008, more than 30,000 boxes have been donated — the equivalent of AED 3 million.
This year’s Box Appeal will run between September 1 and October 31.
