Hilton Doha was officially inaugurated by Sheikh Saoud Bin Khaled Al Thani at a grand ceremony attended by members of the royal family, ambassadors, ministers, special guests as well as Hilton Worldwide executive team members.

The ribbon cutting and opening address was followed by a “Festival of Senses” – a celebration that showcased Hilton Doha’s facilities.

“We have always been committed to Qatar and our current pipeline of four hotels in Doha is a demonstration of our continued interest in this market… we hope to play an integral part in positioning Doha as a global city, and also in delivering an international experience rooted in local culture to global travellers,” Rudi Jagersbacher, president, Hilton Worldwide, MEA said in a statement.

Hilton Worldwide’s first property in the Qatar comprises 309 rooms and is located on the Corniche. Features include a 750-capacity ballroom, a dedicated conference wing and the first eforea: spa at Hilton in the Middle East.

The hotel also includes seven meeting rooms, six restaurants and bars, an outdoor swimming pool, a kids club, a private beach and sea views from all bedrooms. Hilton Doha will also open Qatar’s first Trader Vic’s bar and restaurant.

Andreas Searty, general manager, Hilton Doha said: We are a hotel of firsts – we are the first Hilton Worldwide property in Qatar, home to the first world re-known Trader Vic’s in Qatar and have opened the first eforea: spa at Hilton in the Middle East. Our business forecast looks promising and we look forward to being part of Doha’s dynamic hospitality industry.”

The Festival of Senses brought together various musical and culinary elements to celebrate the launch. Musical acts including the Electric Ladies as well as jazz acts and a pianist serenaded the attendees as they mingled in specially created venues set up all around the property.
