Dubai-based Jumeirah Group – the luxury hospitality company which is part of Dubai Holding, a conglomerate owned by the emirate’s ruler – has announced the opening of its first hotel in Kuwait.

The launch of the 408-key Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel,  presented with a soft opening 7 May, 2013, marks the group’s first hotel in the Gulf region outside the UAE.

Situated on a prime beachfront development, the property is located close to Kuwait City’s business and financial centre en route to Kuwait International Airport. It has been designed by New York architect Skidmore, Ownings and Merrill with traditional Kuwaiti oriel windows in the Mashrabiya style.
