Dubai hotel group JA Resorts & Hotels is set to open its first international property, the Enchanted Island Resort in the Seychelles, on August 1, 2013.

Owned by Enchanted Ventures, the 10-villa retreat is located on a private five-acre tropical island in a National Marine Park accessible via a 15-minute motorboat ride from the main island Mahe.

JA Resorts & Hotels chief operating officer David Thomson said: “We are delighted to open this stunning resort and it makes for an impressive portfolio addition, our first outside Dubai.

“While it has been a delicate and extensive process to get to this stage, we were keen to assist in creating a very special product and disturb as little of the original island flora as possible.”

Enchanted Island Resort features eight one-bedroom Private Pool Villas and two two-bedroom Enchanted Signature Villas, designed to reflect the island’s traditional Creole-Seychellois architecture.

F&B outlets include Bounty Restaurant and Castaway Bar, while the Serena Spa is elevated featuring views across the Indian Ocean.

The island is a retreat for adults and children above 12 years of age, although it is possible to exclusively rent the whole island for up to 24 guests, in which case younger children are permitted.
