Emaar Hospitality Group has opened its first hotel under the Vida Hotels and Resorts brand, located in Downtown Dubai and managed by GM Stefan Viard.

A conversion of the Emaar-owned hotel previously known as Qamardeen, Vida Downtown Dubai becomes the flagship Vida property.

It features 156 rooms fitted with flat-screen televisions, complimentary high-speed internet access, 24-hour room service, and tea and coffee facilities.

F&B will be a key component of the new hotel, with EHG recruiting renowned chef Izu Ani, who launched La Petite Maison in Dubai, to create the signature concept.

This will be the soon-to-open La Serre, a two-level restaurant comprising a boulangerie downstairs — which is accessible directly from the Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard — and a bistro on the upper level.

The remaining outlets, already operational, comprise 3inOne, with seating capacity for 116 patrons indoor and 44 visitors al fresco; Stage 2, a lounge overlooking the pool; and Toko, a Zen-inspired restaurant and lounge serving contemporary and traditional Japanese dishes.

The design throughout makes use of neutral colours and vast open spaces that maximise natural light, as it aims to create a chic ambience for those seeking a blend of ‘work and play’.

Vida, which means ‘life’ in Spanish, was unveiled at Arabian Travel Market earlier this year as a brand designed for “the new generation of business executives, entrepreneurs and leisure travellers”.
