Drake & Scull International has won an AED 23 million (US $6.3 mn) contract to complete MEP work for the Fairmont Abu Dhabi Hotel and Serviced Apartments.

Drake & Scull was awarded the contract by Arabtec Construction LLC, which is commissioned to carry out the main construction of the project. The development, located near Abu Dhabi’s Marina Mall occupies an area of 155,000 m2 and will feature an extensive waterfront area in addition to a five star hotel and serviced apartments.

Arabtec Holding managing director and CEO Hasan Abdullah Ismaik said: “The Fairmont Abu Dhabi Hotel project plays a strategic role in the UAE capital’s plans to develop tourism as part of its Economic Vision 2030. The MEP work is expected to be completed by June 2015
