Kempinski Hotels have promoted Bugra Berberoglu from his position as general manager of the Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi to become the new senior vice president of regional operations for India, the Middle East and Africa.

A graduate of the Ecole Hotelière de Lausanne hospitality management school, Berberoglu joined Kempisnki in 2004 when he was appointed as general manager of the Kempinski Hotel N’Djamena in Chad. Following his time in Chad he was appointed general manager in charge of the opening of Djibouti Palace Kempinski and eventually moved on to become the GM of Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea and area director for the Levant, before taking on his most recent position as general manager at Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi in June 2011.

Commenting on his new role Berberoglu said: “This region has been a key driver in the successful expansion of Kempinski’s global portfolio and contributes more than one third of its overall revenues, with Abu Dhabi’s Emirates Palace being the highest fee-earning properties for the company. I will now work with all the hotels in the region to ensure a consistent delivery of Kempinski luxury standards, and secure our position as a key player in this region.”

Kempinski Hotels, one of Europe’s oldest luxury hotel brands, currently operates sixteen hotels across the Middle East, Africa, and India with plans to double its regional portfolio by 2015.
