A spokesperson for the Gordon Ramsay Group has said it does not have firm plans to re-enter the Dubai market, following reports of his brands being considered for a Middle East launch.

This follows the news broken through an interview with Gates Hospitality CEO Naim Maadad who said the firm had "secured representation for Gordon Ramsay in the Middle East".

A spokesperson for Gordon Ramsay Group spoke to HotelierMiddleEast.com and said: "Dubai continues to be an exciting market and while at the present time we do not have anything in the pipeline or have a partner confirmed, we would be happy to consider a return to the region if the right opportunity and partner arose."

Gates Hospitality CEO Naim Maadad declined to comment.

Ramsay opened his first restaurant outside the UK in Dubai, Verre at the Hilton Dubai Creek, but it was closed and rebranded in 2011. He currently has two outlets at the St Regis hotel in Doha.
