The opening of the Palazzo Versace Dubai, the AED 2.3 billion (US $626 million) hotel being built on the banks of Dubai Creek, has been delayed from Q4 2013 to the second half of 2014.
Speaking to Hotelier, a spokesperson for developer Enshaa confirmed that while the opening date had slipped, the construction of the hotel was now 80% complete, with more than a 1,000 tradesmen currently working on the property.
According to the hotel, one of the many features being put in place is a sand bottomed pool as well as a artificial beach area, with the hotel separated from the creek by paved public Boardwalk.

The Palazzo Versace Dubai was first launched in 2006 by Emirates Sunland Group, a 50:50 joint venture between Enshaa’s subsidiary firm Emirates International Holdings (EIH) and Australian developer The Sunland Group. However, Enshaa took full control of the hotel as part of a swap deal in 2011.
The development will include two Versace-branded residential buildings comprised of 169 units, as well as a Versace-designed hotel with 217 suites, decorated with furnishings from the Italian designer’s Home range.
The project is located in the master development Dubai Culture Village, being overseen by Dubai Properties Group.
