The Abu Dhabi-based Royal Rose Hotel, scheduled to open in September 2013, has appointed Ammar Zakaria as the new director of human resources and Michael Kappes as director of business development.
Zakaria has previously worked at various properties for companies such Shagri-La Hotels & Resorts and Iberotel Hotels & Resorts in the UAE. He brings more than 20 years’ hospitality experience to his new role, having begun his career in the hospitality industry in the finance department before moving to the front office and joining human resources.
In his new role as director of human resources, Zakaria will provide support and direction for the property in all aspects of human resources.

Michael Kappes, who joins the team as director of business development, first began his career as an apprentice at the Park Hotel Bremen in German.
Kappes has since worked with national and international chains during his 35 years in the industry in various roles such as sales and marketing, front office management and reservations.
As the director of business development at Royal Rose Hote, Kappes will lead and direct a team of 16 sales and revenue professionals to prepare for the hotel’s opening.

Ammar’s expertise in human resources will further strengthen our team member satisfaction while Michael’s vast hospitality experience will serve our property well. We welcome them to the executive team as we continue to prepare for the much-awaited opening of Royal Rose.”
Bin Ham-owned The Royal Rose Hotel will be the first five-star property to be operated and managed by its hospitality arm City Seasons Group in the UAE capital.
