Nobu Hospitality, the luxury lifestyle brand owned by the world-famous Chef Nobu, Robert De Niro and Hollywood producer Meir Teper, has appointed the senior management team for the upcoming Nobu Hotel Riyadh.
Robert Todak has been named as general manager of the Nobu Hotel Riyadh as well as area director for Nobu Hospitality, while Kym Barter has been named as EAM of Food and Beverage of the Nobu Hotel Riyadh and vice president of Food and Beverage for Nobu Hospitality.
Robert Todak was most recently the general manager of the Acqualina Resort in Miami, USA. He was also the opening general manager of the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego, having previously served as the general manager of the Hard Rock Hotel Chicago. Todak has held a variety of key management positions in New York and Miami with hotel groups such as Chris Blackwell’s Island Outposts with the Tides and Marlin Hotels, Ian Schrager’s Morgans Hotel Group with the Delano, Shore Club and Paramount Hotels, and Hilton’s Waldorf Astoria.

Kym Barter formerly served as the general manager of premium restaurant operations of t6he Crown Melbourne, overseeing 20 restaurants including various award-wining destinations including Nobu, Number 8, Silks, and Koko in addition to venues such as The Merrywell and Mr. Hive Kitchen & Bar (formerly Maze by Gordon Ramsay). Prior to joining Crown Melbourne, Barter was food and beverage director with various hotel companies throughout Asia including the InterContinental Bangkok, Shangri-La’s China World Hotel, Beijing and the flagship Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong. Barter has held a variety of key management positions previously with Crown Melbourne, Crown Towers Resort and Marina Mirage in Australia.
Nobu Hospitality has also been welcomed by “The Leading Hotels of the World” as a new provisional member, to be converted to full membership status upon the opening of the hotel. Leading Hotels of the World is a luxury hospitality organization representing some the world’s finest hotels, resorts and spas, with offices in more than 20 major markets across the globe.
The Nobu Hotel Riyadh will be the first Nobu Hotel in the Middle East and is being developed and designed by Dhaliliyah Est and the Rockwell Group and will offer guests interiors showcasing natural materials fused with Nobu’s signature elegant style.
