Stewart Selbie is to leave his role as complex general manager of The Westin Dubai and Le Meridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina to take charge of the vacant GM position at the St Regis Saadiyat Resort, Abu Dhabi.

The Abu Dhabi hotel has been without a permanent GM since the tragic death of John Pelling in a car crash on April 25, 2013. Selbie is to be replaced at the two properties by the current complex hotel manager and Starwood regional director of F&B Tolga Lacin.

Educated in both England and Turkey, Turkish hotelier Lacin brings with him two decades of hospitality experience , having begun his career in Istanbul at the Hilton Hotel in 1992. From there he joined the opening team of the Hyatt Regency, also in Istanbul, before taking acting food and beverage manager positions in hotels from Kazakhstan to Kanuhura in the Maldives and enjoyed a brief stay in the Middle East in 2001 where he held the title of food and deputy food and beverage manager at the Sheraton, Doha.

Prior to moving to Dubai, Lacin joined the Asia Pacific Starwood team in 2006 where he was appointed executive assistant manager F&B at The Westin, Shanghai.

In his previous role as complex hotel manager at both the Westin Dubai and Le Meridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina, Lacin was responsible for all facets of food and beverage for Starwood Middle East Region, reporting directly to Guido E. De Wilde senior vice president, regional director Starwood Middle East Hotels & Resorts.
