As part of the US $15mn (AED 55 million) refurbishment programme at the Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort and Spa, two new restaurants including an outlet from Richard Sandoval and a London seafood brand will open in Q2 2014.

The two new international F&B concepts are Geales Seafood restaurant from London and Sandoval's Zengo – a Pan Oriental concept. Both outlets will open in Q2 2014.

In an interview with Caterer Middle East, Pam Wilby, complex general manager for Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort and Spa and Grosvenor House Dubai said: "Both new F&B concepts are unique and form a key part of the refurbishment plans that reflect a new era of change and innovation for Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort + Spa, as the property is reimagined for a new generation of global luxury travelers and UAE residents alike."

Speaking about the collaboration with Sandoval, Wilby said: "This will be our third concept by celebrity chef-consultant Richard Sandoval, after the award winning Maya Modern Mexican Kitchen + Lounge at Le Royal Meridien and Toro Toro at our sister property, Grosvenor House Dubai.

"We absolutely love working with chef Richard and are proud to have introduced such innovative and successful brands to the UAE, over the years. Once again it is very exciting for our team to be bringing a completely new concept to the UAE – Zengo will be an artful blend of Pan-Oriental and Asian styles and flavours."

She said these two concepts were chosen as they "allow the hotel to differentiate itself through associating with strong international brands and it is also important for us to offer variety to our guests as part of our efforts to strengthen Le Royal Méridien’s position on the Dubai culinary scene".

Both outlets will be managed by the hotel, working closely with Concept Venues from London for Geales and Sandoval for Zengo.
