Dubai based developer Nakheel has unveiled plans for its planned Palm Tower development that will include a 290-room, five-star hotel.

Part of a new Nakheel Mall and Hotel complex at the heart of the Palm Jumeirah man-made island, the Palm Tower hotel will offer an array of dining and leisure facilities, including a rooftop restaurant, viewing tower and infinity pool. These facilities will also be shared with the residents of 504 residential units in The Palm Tower Residences, which will consist of a mixture of serviced and fully-furnished studios, one, two and three bedroom apartments.

Nakheel Chairman Ali Rashid Lootah said: “The Palm Tower combines luxury living with comfort and convenience, and brings yet more amenities to Palm Jumeirah. The tower will have direct access to The Palm Monorail and Nakheel Mall which will contain 300 shops including department stores and a supermarket, a cinema, medical centre, fitness centre and dozens of cafes and restaurants. The retail complex is also due to have a roof terrace with 12 fine dining outlets.

Nakheel has announced that The Palm Tower will be the flagship hotel of the company’s recent expansion into the hospitality and leisure sector. Other announced locations for Nakheel hotels are Deira Islands, the Ibn Battuta mall, International City and Dragon Mart, with Nakheel planning to build nine hotels over the next three to five years, with the first – at Dragon Mart – opening in 2014.
