Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) has been showing young Emiratis some of the career opportunities available to them in the hotel industry at the Careers UAE Fair.
It has been operating a stand at the fair, which concludes today, with 40 of the emirate’s hotels exhibiting with it. Among the hotels taking part on the stand are Atlantis, The Palm, Shangri-La, Armani, JW Marriott,Accor; Fairmont, Conrad and The Address.
The fair, which is being held at Dubai World Trade Centre, is a recruitment, education and training event offered exclusively for UAE Nationals.

“The number of UAE Nationals working in the hospitality sector is approximately 3,160 and we plan to increase this number by 15% on an annual basis,” said DCTM executive director of HR and training solutions Ibrahim Yaqoot.
“This fair represents a very good opportunity to join DTCM’s ‘START’ programme which aims to prepare and educate young Emiratis to work in the sector.”
He added that the hotels taking part on the DTCM stand would provide many promising opportunities for those looking to become part of tourism industry.
Jumeirah Group has also been seeking local talent at the fair, with its own stand to promote the hotel company to the UAE’s national high school graduates.
