A prominent British hotelier on the Caribbean island of St Lucia is feared dead after a body with two gun shots to the head was found in his burnt out car, it has been reported.

The body, identified locally as Oliver ‘Ollie’ Gobat’s, was found hours after his family report him missing, according to the Daily Mail.

Although the island’s police have not confirmed the details of the incident, it is believed that victim had been shot twice in the head before being doused with petrol and set alight

Gobat’s family runs the luxurious Cap Maison hotel on the island, It is a five-star boutique property set in the tropical grounds of a former sugar plantation.

Among those to have already paid tribute to the 38-year-old is double Olympic decathlon gold medallist Daley Thompson, who is reported to have carried out fitness workshops at the hotel.
