Emaar's hospitality and leisure subsidiary has launched a new hotel brand that celebrates Arabesque design aesthetics and culinary flavours.

Emaar Hospitality Group unveiled Manzil, its fourth hotel brand following The Address Hotels + Resorts, Vida Hotels and Resorts and Dubai Inn, at the Arabian Travel Market.

The first property under the new brand will be Manzil Downtown Dubai, located directly opposite Souk Al Bahar. Formerly known as Al Manzil, Emaar took over the management of the property from South African operator Tsogo Sun in 2012.

Distinguished by a palette of brown, beige, and white, Manzil Downtown Dubai will feature 197 rooms, designed to provide a warm and embracing welcome for visitors.

The company said Manzil, an upscale boutique brand, will be identified by its Arabesque design elements, décor that embodies the region’s cultural identity, and a diversity of culinary choices reflecting the flavours of the Arab world.

At the heart of every Manzil hotel will be a courtyard, a traditional Arabic ‘majlis’, the company said in a statement.

Mohamed Alabbar, chairman, Emaar Properties, said: “Manzil is a dynamic new hotel brand that celebrates the warmth that one associates with Arabian hospitality. It is a perfect fit to Dubai’s culture of welcoming visitors from around the world, offering them all the conveniences of modernity in a traditional ambience that highlights the region’s culture.”

The new brand will target the younger generation of travellers and entrepreneurs, especially from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, he added.

Emaar said it will roll the Manzil brand in its home city of Dubai, as well as in key global markets that it is present in.

The hotels will the hotels will draw on the 'mashrabiya' facade - a theme that extends to the lobbies and aisles. All rooms will be equipped with the latest telecom and entertainment amenities, as well as free Wi-Fi.

Emaar Hospitality Group has 12 hotels in its portfolio and owns and manages a diversified portfolio of hospitality assets including hotels, serviced residences, golf retreats, a polo and equestrian club.
