The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company is to open a second hotel under the brand in Kazakhstan, with The Ritz-Carlton, Astana set to open in 2017.

The operator is working with private investment group Verny Capital on the hotel, which will have 157 guest rooms and suites. It will be a follow up to the brand’s first hotel, which opened in Almaty in 2013.

It will be part of the mixed-use Talan Towers project, which will also feature retail space, offices and luxury apartments. The hotel will take up 20 floors of one of the 27-storey towers.

“We are delighted to work once again with our partners Verny Capital and to bring The Ritz-Carlton renowned levels of hospitality to the capital city of Kazakhstan,” said The Ritz-Carlton president and chief operations officer Herve Humler.

“We look forward to creating a prestigious luxury hotel for international travellers to this dynamic city.”
